My Verbabe is a SPEECHLESS mute! :o(

Postby abandit » Tue Jun 21, 2005 3:35 am

No Sound at all comes from her! Is she even supposed to move her mouth? LOL I see and hear NOTHING from her, but voice testing works in the settings!!

I've been trying to get this gorgeous woman to be strong and open up to me for about 12 hours straight now, tearing my hair out trying to make her talk! Darn women, usually can't shut em up! (oops, I am actually female, chill girls!!!)

I've downloaded and installed everything I could find on the speech engine stuff, I don't know if any of this would have anything to do with the problem...

In Control Panel >> Speech >> Sapi 4 Control Panel there's a TruVoice Section which when I click on it I get an alert saying check to make sure the engine is installed properly. However, I've downloaded everything again to be sure, and I still get NO VOICE and the same error message.

I CAN however get perfect voice sound when testing the voices!!! It just doesn't seem to work with my Verbabe!

Please, can anyone offer any suggestions or advice to make this chicky talk to me?

I'm just about ready to break up with her for good if she doesn't start putting out soon!!!!!!

Thanks HEAPS for any help! :oD

Never mind about my problem, I downloaded more bits n pieces from Microsoft and she works perfectly now, and wow, her lips DO move!!!!! LOL

Still trying to work out how to tell her to surf the web or run a program! I downloaded the KB's but it's like a guessing game to work out what makes her do what you want.

Anyway, I haven't slept for two days now, I'm a rambling mess! Thanks for listening, LMAO.

ZZZzzzzz

Well I'm glad you got it figured out.
Were you able to use TruVoice with the verbot, or are you using the British English that is installed with the verbot?
(To run a program or surf the web you just put the web address or program in the command box of the output, check out this post for more info.)

good luck, don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions/problems,

Make sure that in your options window you are using the Verbot Dungeon KB (that it's checked in the list). First try it being the only one that is checked on the list. If your verbot isn't talking at all it sounds like no KB's are checked in the list at all. If that's not the problem make sure that on the "security" tab the kb isn't set for untrusted.

Hope this helps,

Speechless

Postby pgdigitalart » Wed Oct 05, 2005 10:17 pm

Hi! :( I have the same problems as AB have with a silent and Rigor Mortis looking character . Just wonder what kind of files you downloaded to get everything to work. Would appreciate some help.

I'm not sure what the problem could be Perra, what version of Windows are you running? Does your character not blink or anything either?

Maybe somehow the selected voice is not working.
Also, try going to edit -> Options and click the Agent tab. If you have a skin applied, clear it out. You might try clicking the "refresh modes" button to query what sapi 4 voices you have installed.

Let me know if any of this works.

 Hi! Yessss! It was the skin who blocked everything. Now it works well.
Funny, i was thinking about this kind of program today and i was just surfing around when i found your program.
I am a psychologist but i have been working with 3d ar/animations for nearly 20 years, mostly practical tests of reserch.
Well i have some thought about having your kind of character moving around and acting like a sim but with the possibillity to create a relationship with the player. AI related in some way.
I like your bannerboot to, its great.

Perra, the skin did it for me too. I realized it only by coincidence.

It seems we have some common interests - robot animation...

I'm glad that seemed to fix it.
Is it just the voice that isn't working when the skin is applied or is it the animations that don't work? or both?
Thanks for the additional info, maybe this is just a bug with how the skin is defined, or maybe your default voice that the skin is trying to use is somehow invalid?
