changing voice?

Postby shui » Sun Feb 13, 2005 10:10 pm

Is it possible to get the agent to change its own speed, pitch, and voice? Something like <agent.load agentfile>, but for voice? Like if I wanted Julia to suddenly start speaking Korean, I could go <voice.load korean>[korean text]

Yeah, I think that's something we could add. I'll look into it.

I've added 3 new commands for this:
agent.setvoice
- Changes to the given voice name.
agent.setspeed
- Sets the voice speed to the given value.
agent.setpitch
- Sets the voice pitch to the given value

These new commands should be available in the next release (version 4.0.5.7). I'm really looking forward to seeing people use this for creating multi-lingual agents.

then that means you could create a bot maybe that actually ages(appearance wise) as you talk to him over minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or even years. with this new changing vioce technology then it could reallly be convincing. Shui, five bux says your asian.

Hmm, that might be cool to get a Korean voice going. I'm curious to see the TTS Engine's for Asian languages. Anyone know some sites to hear some samples (particularly if there is a Japanese one).
