a new idea for a KB

shall we as a community start the buliding of a ultimate Kb

let me state it

ther should be a seperate thread in the downloding section

then a simple kb should be uploaded

also in the new thread on the downloding sec there should be provisions

to place mutliple version of that kb

then a user downloads the kb and add his own knowledge
then repost it
and in a month or so all that kbs will be merged to make a large Kb

then again and again std edition users downloads it and again add knowledge till this KB will became the ultimate kb

in the first phase of construction it would be nice to add
only questions like
what is........?
how is.......?
why .......?

etc etc

after making a grant knowledge we can then give the KB a personality

lot more to say but let me know will this work

It will be convenient to get a model of file to "discipline" that.
Everybody get the same file and fill it. An other thing, who merge
all these files and how?

see first of all i dont know how merge works

so the person which have used Std.Edition plz tell me the following

1) i have made a KB with just questions in the " what is .....? " category
with answers
2) i have made another kb in " why is .....? " category
with answers


so if u merge this Kbs together will there be a new file formed which can be combined and compiled into a new KB consisting of "what is...?"
and "why is ...?"

if that is possible a volunteer who can take these all users uploded file and comine them in a month or 2 month time is good

and also if the 2 KB contains same rules - and when it is merged will one rule be deleted

but to do this first we need Verbot Staffs support to build a new thread in the phpbb
for this Kb

Not really easy.... But i'm all for it. We have to do
many many subjectives choices....

first make a simple Kb ( i think any VERBOT STAFFS will inaugrate it)

then kb creators among us will download it
and will post in the forum what subject we are going to add knowledge
ex sports, computer, gerenal knowledge etc

then the creator will add that
and will post the new kb after a month or so

but there should be a last date or week for submission

then one person will merge all kbs uploaded again everythings get cleared

and only the large kb will be available

then again we repeat this process

and on and on


but i didt got any details about the Merge property in the std edition
will it work as i have said on the TOP POST

THats a good idea so that every users can contribute thier subjects within the same file but the problem is that only one person (i think ) can work on the kb at a period of time

details--->

1) the main file is uploaded
2) one user download the file and add knowledge about sports
3) then the other user(medicine) to do his work--> he should wait till the user on sport subject upload it

I can't stop to think about your idea....
If we want this idea works we have to spoon-feed the thing,
otherwise nobody will get the courage to do anything...

Do you have Standart Edition? If yes,i try, actually, to
build a learning mode with a kind of protocol of learning
with 2 files. A main file (the personnality) and a second
for library, data base etc... With pre_def learning mode.
(Because actually we can directly fill an output in a second
file, may be later with C# conditionnal etc...)
For the moment it's nothing special. But i'm positive.
With,i can create rule, under rule thanks to several complex
output (for me), i can get a behavior not too much stupid
from my Verbot
Verbot can fill, with the second file and his pre-def output,
"almost" all what it wants.(The trouble is the "almost")
The dream is what we command every thing from the main file,
but it's a dream for the moment I have to wait for some
examples with C#....
Like that a person up load the file and write all what he
wish, Verbot ask "How, when, where, why etc and memorise all
the infos in this second file.
Are you interested in these 2 files? I can send then to you,
but don't be cruel if you find strange thing in, I'm a lucky
guy and sometime i built incredibles wrongs rules, but they
work.......
It will be a good idea too, to put a thing like that on
Verbots.com.... I don't know....

I really like the idea of having a community developed KnowledgeBase. The only problem is that the download section of PHPBB isn't well suited for something like this because a moderator has to approve each upload. Have you thought about using Yahoo Groups to host and collaborate on the project?

first of all i dont have std edition

and also ( i think ) most of the verbot members own a free player

so let first build a large Knowledge database without any special tags just plain questions and answers will do later we will give verbot a personality by adding some common varibles which will work in free player

and as a grant finalle we can add all those Special tags like learn and mem

this is because if we use these tags no users will be ready to come and work cause the may not be familier with this

so now we have 3 option and 1 problem

1 problem is regarding the place where we store these files as aaron said that yahoo groups will be good let hope to do it there if no LIcencing problems arrive

3 options are

1 ) one person at a time can contribute to a file that is
a) user downloads the file ---> add some knowledge
b) then submit that
c) other user download again the new file
d) and on and on


2) many users downloads the file add thier knowledge categories
and will post at a last date or week then those files will be merged

3) the new option is -->>>

just like the country capital's KB

there will be seperate KB's for every categories
since verbot player searches every Kb which is ticked on the knolwedge base adding option we wont have a problem

but the problem is that no KB should contain *(default) rule

ie


Ultimate VERBOT will be a package of multiple KBs which doesnt contains *(default) rule

so that users of the ultimate kb should a add every kB's seperatly into the VERBOT PLAYERS kb adding options

um.....

but if that can be done the creators will think " i am making a different category of knowledge so why cant i post it to the community as my own seperate file? so that the credit will come to me"

Nobody will go to an other webpage Yahoo etc. If something is done, it's here,
Sure we can find place here, to send this kind of file. Ex Download/KnowledgeBases
or other.
To build a KB without learn posibilities is a force-feeding. And it's not so
easy to add, after the events, the learn capacities. I get ahead with my "work"
1_novice_learn.vkb, and for me it's not easy, it's not my thing, but i wish a
Verbot easy for every body not a specialist Verbot for great programmer.
I prefer to finish this file (1_noviceblabla), and send it here for everybody.
Like that everybody dowmload it and answer to the Verbot's questions. It's easy,
no rack one's brains, and like that, may be we'll have some interest from the
other users.. The user have just to download the main file, to create a, empty
.vkb file, give the mane Add_connaissance.vkb and he type:
"A XXXX is a ZZZZ (or esle)" and he answer to the questions: Object or living/
What's for/When/How to use it/Main caracteristic etc etc...
The real problem is who mamage this work and not the place where we
find this file. But, again, your idea is an excellent idea. Show me an sample of
what you want we do exactly, step by step.
Oups! An other trouble... When i'll be able to finish that... I wait for somme
example with C#, conditional, possibility to capture [] <> and always something
to add...
May be i'm a little pretentious... No comments.... But i'll try to build that
for the community.

Great idea Blue. I believe that a community project is awesome idea. Keeping it basic is also an excellent idea as well seeing as alot of projects tend to get lost in details. Believe me, I know this from expereience! *lol*

Anyhow, I've been pretty busy lately trying to make up for lost revenue however I'll be more than happy to help out when I can. I do believe there are 24 more letters in the alphabet inwhich I need to make synonym files for. *lol*
