Good idea, Sylvain. I appreciate any help and/or suggestions. Also, bear in mind a couple things when chatting with my bot, "Janice". She's not your typical bot...
1) She remains 'in character' the whole conversation - so she never acknowledges she's a chat bot. Since she's also supposed to be on another planet somewhere, she won't acknowledge 'earthly' things, having no knowledge of 'Earth'.
2) She was originally developed as a kind of interactive FAQ for the site so a lot of her answers revolve around the site's purpose.
3) The 'personality' I used for her makes her resent the 'menial' task of answering questions she's been given and she has little patience for 'organics' (as she calls them), finding them to be generally a 'lesser' intelligence in every sense of the word. So don't be surprised if she spends a good chunk of the conversation trying to end the conversation. |

Oh, you misunderstood. That last post was not directed at you personally. It was a general statement to anyone who visits my bot. At the time I wrote that - I wasn't even aware you had visited my bot. I've since then read the chat log, and I assume that you've gone to visit her, especially when you asked her if she spoke French.  I actually have a response set up to trigger if someone asks her what languages she speaks or if she speaks certain languages, but it must have not matched your input well enough, or more likely - didn't recognize the correct characters you used to ask the question (tu parles français ?) because I personally don't know how to spell in French.  |
