Lip Synching and MS Agent

Postby Randal » Fri Oct 28, 2005 5:32 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm sure someone has the answer to this one. I'd like to create my own agent and know that I have to make each frame of the animation.

So how does this work with runtime speech? I'm sure there is something built-in, I'm just not sure how this works yet. Would I have to make an animation for each sound in a text file? (Well, maybe about seven to ten of the most common mouth shapes anyway.)

Thanks,

Randy

You need a static image that corresponds to each of the mouth positions (I'm not sure exactly how many MS Agent uses). When the voice is playing, MS Agent will automatically animate it by showing the image that corresponds to the sound.

Thanks Aaron,

I kind of thought it might be something like that. After I work on my latest game for the company I'll begin working on the agent. Maybe others would like something fairly nice. I'm using Poser 6 to make it. :)
