Original Julia? (Tomika?)

Postby mullins » Sat Mar 12, 2005 7:59 am

Hello Verbot Team,
I read the postings in the forum, and noticed that there was an older version of Julia (Tomika?) that was much larger. Is it availible for download or purchase? If so, will it work with the Verbot 4 Standard Player Edition? Also, is there a list of all of the Agent Tags that Julia can use? Currently, I can make her show about 5-6 emotions. Please let me know.

Greatly Appreciate the help.

I think the Julia agent that comes with the Verbot platform is the largest full one that we have available. The best place to look for the list of animations is the default replacement profile (Default.vrp).

Yes, I too remember Tomika. There was also a Sapphire.. Brunette I think. These were not developed for the verbot, but they were shown as part of the background on Virtual Personalities website. I understand they were developed for other industrial applications. But Yeah, Great point.. Those verchicks are Hot and I agree, I would like to see us have them too! Er.. Perhaps Conversive wiill think about it... (BIG HINT!)

At the risk of sounding sexist I need to point this out. There are Tons of female programmers out there who would love to be more involved wiith our Verbot project. (thats a prediction) I think a few photorealistic guy agents would be just the thing to draw those ladies in. Women think differently than men when it comes to problem solving. I think thier creativity in scripting a verbot could return interesting results.

Hey John. It's great to have people around that remember some of our early work. :) The name you're thinking is actually "Tokimi". If I remember, there was even an old picture of her on some futuristic bike or something. That character is actually what current Julia is based on... just remade to look a little more businessy. I bet Jer has some of those original images somewhere.

Sapphire was our first attempt as web based agents. The brunette you're remembering was actually called Paige and is available under the name Crystal on the BannerBot site (http://bannerbot.conversive.com/BannerBot/) with some small changes.
